A BRUISED and embarrassed Jennifer Hawkins yesterday broke her silence over the nude magazine cover affair over which she was pilloried for being presented as a pin-up girl for women with poor body image issues.
The holidaying model emerged to exclusively tell Confidential she only did the shoot to raise money for an eating disorder charity, a cause she said had been lost in the deluge of negative reactions over her photos.
She said she was unaware the images would be used to present her as a woman with "flaws" - believing they were to only promote a healthy lifestyle.
"I don't see myself as a poster girl for body image," she told Confidential.
Hawkins was also embarrassed the coverage upset Bernie Brookes, boss of her chief employer Myer, because he was not told of the shoot.
