A bad name for aged care nurse

Yahoo 7 News A former aged care nurse has been found guilty of assaulting patients at an Adelaide northern suburbs nursing home.



Amanda Louise Manuel, 31, of Greenwith was accused of bashing elderly residents at the facility, which cannot be identified.

The trial in Adelaide Magistrates Court heard evidence that Manuel knocked patients to the ground and beat one with a pillow last year.

She was found guilty of five counts of assault and acquitted of two others.

None of the victims was capable of testifying during the trial but prosecutors brought in other workers who had witnessed the assaults to give evidence.
Manuel will be sentenced next year.
