UDD seeks action against PM, Pirapan

The red-shirts on Tuesday submitted a letter to the Department of Special Investigation seeking action against Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva and Justice Minister Pirapan Salirathavibhaga, alleging they are trying to delay processing of their petition for a royal pardon for former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra.

The letter was submitted to DSI secretary-general Tarit Pengdit by United Front for Democracy against Dictatorship (UDD) leaders Veera Musikhapong, Jatuporn Promphan and Nathawut Saikua during a rally outside the DSI building on Chaeng Wattana road..

They said in the letter that Mr Abhisit and Mr Pirapan had tried to delay the process of examination of the petition.

Mr Tarit accepted the letter and promised to set up a team to look into the matter as soon as possible.

Mr Veera said he believed the DSI would be impartial and the red shirts would not do anything to pressure it.
